Rapid Results from Simple Dumbbell Routines Habits List Andy Cor 9781492798521 Books

This illustrated, short Kindle book provides, as advertised, a simple dumbbell exercise program. The easy-to-understand program focuses on just seven dumbbell exercises (six compound exercises and one isolation exercise) within a basic foundational routine that has you alternating between push and pull motions from one exercise to the next. There are three different routines that utilize the basic routine, with varying reps and weight, for each of the three routines. I was looking for some guidelines to apply to my existing dumbbell exercise program and a few tips for developing dumbbell-training as a habit. I am quite satisfied and I got what I was looking for.

However, the "log book" link in my Kindle version of this book doesn't go to a log book. When I click this link, I get a web page that says, in part, "It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching, or one of the links below, can help." (It didn't.) A "checklist within the book" link didn't work either - though I did locate the actual checklist. The other links I tried did work, including those that took me to supporting information and videos.

I especially like Andy Cor’s sequencing protocol, which requires me to cycle through one set at a time through my different dumbbell exercises, rather than doing three to four sets of one exercise, then three to four sets of the next exercise, and so on. Although I don’t think Andy makes this particular point, I can see how this procedure would help me set up my dumbbell routine as a habit. He also has you reversing the order of the exercises on certain days.

The exercise regimen is detailed and concise, but it differs somewhat from the regimen I'm used to seeing in dumbbell training books: It has you doing the same seven exercises daily (in seven-day cycles, with instructions for incorporating different cardio routines and for changing the "tempo" of lifting/lowering each day) but with progressively heavier weight in three-day cycles, while prescribing that you rest for a day after the sixth day. The book also contains specific cardio training routines, nutritional guidelines, and some specific recipes to be used on the days you workout. The recipes are different for various times of the day, but the same group of recipes are repeated for every workout day.

I especially liked the author's detailed and impactful "Top 5 Reasons Why You Are Not Getting Results."

Andy acknowledges that that his program is based on personal experience, that there are flaws, and recommends that you modify it to suit your requirements. If you’re not motiviated to do your existing dumbbell routine, “Rapid Results from Simple Dumbbell Routines” by Andy Cor might be exactly what you're looking for.

One way that I intend to use this new information, beyond paying attention to his "Top 5 Reasons Why You Are Not Getting Results" checklist and other tips, is to revert to Andy's dumbbell routine anytime I'm stuck in the rut of avoiding my more-involved regular dumbbell routine.

Not a perfect book, but well-worth the price, in my opinion, and I'm very glad I bought it.

Great book for simple dumbbell routines. It was cheap and informative. I can really see the gains after reading this book.
